What we are Doing...

It has been a while since I last posted
So here is a quick catch up...

A1 son has been as busy as ever
once basketball ended
he had to pick a new sport
so the one we have been enduring
is WRESTLING...

that's right - he is now wearing
a skimpy, tight, body suit
called a "singlet"
and rolling around on a large mat
with other sweaty, stinky boys
that weigh close to what he does - nothing!

I - as the mother of a wrestler - endure
MANY hours in the gym
with sweaty, stinky boys,
watching them bend
and fold in ways I'm sure
the body was not meant to do!

and WHO INVENTED THIS THING
called a "SINGLET"
it shows all the curves, hills, bumps, etc
that are on a body.

and since said mother is
hanging out in a gym with boys
my two youngest thought that they needed
to give the sport a try....

What's a mom to do...
i could show you all the quilting I've been doing
however, my camera has been taken over
by my youngest brother "the J man"
i hope he is learning lots in his class
so he can come and teach me about my camera!!
More to come...

after the decorations where up
{and the cat was kept away from the tree}

i actually decided to walk the walk for graduation

{yes mom & dad - i finally did it}
i graduated from Utah State University

following graduation came the quick preparations for Christmas

It's FALL...

Fall is my favorite time of year.
I love the colors, the food, the smells
the big sweaters...
but NOT THE SNOW...

My kids sure had fun in the first snow of the year...

And of course after playing in the snow
One must enjoy a cup of hot chocolate & marshmallows
BUT this mom wasn't prepared for the snow and thus
only hot chocolate - no marshmallows

The snow was gone by Halloween
And the kids were ready to get some candy
M1 was batman - yes I finished that costume
M2 was superman.

They went Trick or Treating 3 times that day
Ate homemade carmel apples - thanks Kim
And stayed up way past their bedtime!!

The cousin's came to grandma's house too...

And Dad and Uncle Judd had a little too much fun!!
(Dad is the witch)

Now it is time to snuggle in for the winter...
Here comes the snow!

He's 3... and some other stuff

M2 is 3 years old!!

I can't believe that my baby is growing up.
A real little boy!!

We are even attemtping to potty train,
He is catching on - and the diaper bill has gone down...

Here are some pictures from his birthday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY M2!!!

On a few other notes...
I have been quilting and sewing up a storm!
Just what every quilter wants to do...

We have decided to do a "
Total Money Makeover"
and so I have been sewing a Halloween Costume this year.
Now I'm a quilter - not a seamstress, so this is rather difficult
I never know exactly how to do it - but it seems to be turning out OK.

M1 has decided to be Batman,
(The costume I had to make)

And M2 has decided to be Superman
(The costume I stole my pattern from for Batman)

My MIL made the superman outfit
about 10 years ago when #1 was 3

My boys LOVE it!!
I think I have even caught their father wearing it once or twice
-BUT don't tell!

As for quilting...
Here are a few of the projects I have been working on.

This one is for the Secret Angel swap
Can't tell who it is for - but I hope she'll like it!

These blocks are just waiting to be set in some fashion
Can't decide what that is yet - I'm up for suggestions...

These pinwheels were stolen from the trash...
Yes girls - you get desperate when you have to live on a tight budget.
Actually - they where extra from a quilt retreat and my wonderful quilting friend let me take them...

Now there is a story with the 3 blocks above
You probably don't know but they are missing their friend
You see I take applique to my son's soccer practices, games, etc
and somehow the applique fairy came into our car and took just one block
I have no idea where that one block went.....
I have a sneaking suspicion it is in the same place as all those darn missing socks!

BUT if you find a block that looks like the ones above
or the single one below - please send me an email and let me know!
I'm short on the tree fabric - and it makes me mad!!

Ok - calm down you say...

Next few photos are of #1's soccer team.
They just finished State Cup in the semi-finals
They are an awesome group of boys!!

GO PATRIOTS!!

The one in red is my son.
He is a short little guy - but look at how he can jump...
Some days I think he has springs for legs!
Obviously he got his head on this ball!!

Well... That's a catch up for our family!
Hopefully your family is having as much fun and success as ours!!

A Worth While Weekend

What a wonderful weekend...
It started on Friday with of course the last day of work
and then we went to a wedding for my husband's cousin
Caught up with family we haven't seen in a while

And then came Saturday...
A fun day spent with my brother
and his family swimming in their pool
a quick Bar B Q, and then we watched
their cute kids so they could celebrate a birthday.

Sunday couldn't have been better
It started with the dedication of the newest Temple
The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple

What a wonderful dedication...

Then - I had to take the boyz out of the house -
they were either going to kill each other, OR
I was going to kill them...
So we went on a quick hike to Lisa Falls

What fun we had
We walked right by a rattlesnake and didn't even see it
SCARY!!

But the boys loved playing in the water,

hiking high enough to scare their mother
(Can you see them up there??)

and carrying rocks
M2 wouldn't put this rock down -
but it was too heavy for him to carry down the path
So he would throw it down the path and then chase after it all the time while
saying "My rock, my rock"

So much fun!!

We then finished the day with a wonderful dinner
with my husband's cousin and her family.
It was great to sit and talk
Exchange stories, etc...

Thanks for a wonderful evening!

We then headed home to start the process of getting ready for school
#1 went to his first day of 8th grade.
I can't believe he is that old,
because that makes me HOW old???

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well..

Now on to much more important things like
WORK... (NOT REALLY)
