Remembering what we LOVE...

How often do we get down about life. I think everyday we have to over come some kind of small hurdle that gets us down. Then we have to remember what we LOVE. Our lives are full of blessings and we need to LOVE what we have. We need to be thankful for each of our experiences that progress us forward and make us more like our Saviour.

I hope this November that we all take a few minutes to be thankful for every little thing we have.

Ugly Quilts...

When I started quilting I read a book called

"How NOT to Make A Prize Winning Quilt"

by

Ami Simms

I laughed hilariously.

I then visited her website where she hosted

an "Ugly Quilt" contest.

These quilts where UGLY!!!

Now there is a blog I love to watch and read.

This blog is Stash Manicure

On this blog they are having their version of an "Ugly Quilt" contest

This isn't really a contest but more of an exchange

We get a brown bag of fabrics - totalling 2 yards

from someone else's stash and we have to make a quilt of this fabric

I thought it sounded like fun -

and quite a challenge

so I joined.

First Day of School...

The Middle Man started his first day of school

He is big now

1st Grade...

Scout Camp

I'm not sure if I'm excited

or scared for my Soccer Dude

Today he left at 5 am to go to Scout camp

Normally I would send him and know that

he will come home stinky and dirty -

Nothing is changing this time around

EXCEPT

he and his troop are hiking

So what you say - but this peak

is the highest peak in UTAH

It is 13,528 feet high

It is often called

The Roof of Utah

I know my son can do this

he is extremely physically fit

I just hope he doesn't wander off,

get cold, see bears, etc

I guess it is just mother's nerves!

4th of July FUN

Every year for the past 15 years

we have enjoyed going to Lewiston, Utah

for the exciting 4th of July fun...

Lewiston, Utah is where my husband was raised.

And EVERYONE (even at church) say it is the

BEST place to live.

I must admit I was never much for the small town

BUT I do love Lewiston, Utah!

I miss living there!

Every year the Bergie Boyz - ALL OF THEM

(and this number is growing fast!)

a second child came into my life

I had waited for this baby a LONG time

he was wanted so badly it hurt
Now he is 6

I LOVE YOU MIDDLEMAN!

On Hold...

As those of you know that may read my blog I haven't kept it up very well.

That is mainly because other things are more important



So take this as notice that this blog may or may not be updated regularly...
I may at one point decide to post on a regular basis -
however other things are more important...

What are other things you may ask???

It might be my son's soccer
(except that he did break the basement window on Saturday)



It might by my son's art
(he asked for an art kit for his birthday)









It might be learning to ride a bike
(if there are no accidents he gets a bike with training wheels)



Each of these son's are different
and each of them needs mom's full attention this summer

It is the first summer in several summers that mom hasn't been in school.



A post here and there will be added - but nothing spectacular!!

Please don't leave - just know that it might be very dull
Of course, you never know what kind of trouble those boys could get in!!

Precious Moment...

One Sunday a few weeks back we had a moment in our home,
A precious moment to say the least

Our children didn't want to get up for church
Church is at 9am - which requires them to get up around 730am

Our youngest - Super Buddy - refused to get dressed
I held him down and dressed him
He undressed himself

Mr Handsome (dad) held him down and dressed him
He again undressed himself

We finally did the threaten punishment if he took his clothes off
and the tears began to shed.
Super Buddy sat down outside the bathroom
against the wall and cried.

Middleman, the older brother, decided to help his younger brother.
Now being just over 2 years apart these two are either lovers or haters
Thank goodness this morning they were lovers!

Middleman sat down and slowly wiped away Super Buddy's tears and said
"Don't Cry, it will be okay".
My heart melted.
What an amazing older brother...


Good thing the camera was close!

April 15th... Tax Day

Everyone I know hates dealing with taxes... except my CPA

Well the last 6 months or so my husband and I have been dealing with the IRS. They claim we owe them quite a bit of money, and of course now the State has to jump on that bandwagon as well. Needless to say - I'm quite annoyed with the whole situation.

Yes - we have hired a CPA to deal with it now!!

So in my annoyance I was reading Dave Ramsey's forums and found this little tid bit on how to annoy the IRS - without getting in trouble. I have to post it as it is quite funny. Now I wouldn't do this - but today I just might!

How to annoy the IRS (Without Getting In Trouble!)

In this world, we strive for our 15 minutes of fame, now you can effect people in every walk of life, anytime, anywhere! However, the results may not be positive. Collected inside are ways to annoy people. Things you know people do that are truly funny!

1) Always put extra paper clips on your forms. Any foreign fasteners or the like have to be removed and put away.

2) Always put staples in the right hand corner. Go ahead and put them down the whole right side. The extractors who remove the mail from the envelopes have to take out any staples on the right side.

3) If you send two checks, they'll have to staple your unsightly envelope to your half destroyed form.

4) If you're very unfortunate and have to pay taxes, send two or three party check. On top of paying with a third party check, pay one of the dollars you owe in cash. When an extractor receives cash, no matter how small an amount, he has to take it to a special desk and fill out of few nasty forms.

5) Line the bottom of your envelope with Elmer's glue and let it dry before you put in you forms, so that the automated opener doesn't open it and the extractor has to open it by hand.

6) Never arrange paperwork in the right order, or even facing the right way. Put a few upside down and backwards. That way they have to remove all your staples, rearrange your paperwork and re-staple it (on the left side).

7) Sign your name in ink on every page. Any signature has to be verified and then date stamped. These are just a few of the fun and exciting things you can do with the IRS. These methods are ONLY recommended when you OWE money.

8) When you mail it, mail it in a big envelope (even if its just a single EZ form). Big envelopes have to be torn and sorted differently than regular business size ones. An added bonus to the big envelope is that they take priority over other mail, so the workers can hurry up and deal with your mess.

9) Write a little letter of appreciation. Any letter received has to be read and stamped regardless of what it is or what it's on.

10) Write your letter on something misshapen and unconventional. Like on the back of a supermarket sack. 1

11) If they owe you money, being nice helps.

Hopefully your Tax Day comes off without a hitch!!

Work...

I spend a lot of time at work

Full- time in fact...

I have a cubicle that I have

decorated with my favorite things

BUT! I work at one of the most

beautiful places in the WORLD

As Spring is approaching the flowers

are poking their heads

through the tough ground

and right outside my walls

is a WINDOW (these are coveted!)

and below is the view

There's Lots of Fish in the Sea

m1 has always loved the water
but he was unable to take swimming lessons
due to having tubes in his ears

well - we finally got over the tubes
and the Dr. said he could take lessons
he was soooo excited!!!

he has learned how to float on his back,
do big arms (front stroke),
and of course do a somersault
and back somersault

A1 has just finished wrestling
he made it to district
and placed 5th out of 8 wrestlers in his weight

he really enjoyed it
and did really well for only
wrestling for 3 weeks

as for m2
i guess i need to take some pictures
more to come

What we are Doing...

It has been a while since I last posted

So here is a quick catch up...

A1 son has been as busy as ever

once basketball ended

he had to pick a new sport

so the one we have been enduring

is WRESTLING...

that's right - he is now wearing

a skimpy, tight, body suit

called a "singlet"

and rolling around on a large mat

with other sweaty, stinky boys

that weigh close to what he does - nothing!

I - as the mother of a wrestler - endure

MANY hours in the gym

with sweaty, stinky boys,

watching them bend

and fold in ways I'm sure

the body was not meant to do!

and WHO INVENTED THIS THING

called a "SINGLET"

it shows all the curves, hills, bumps, etc

that are on a body.

and since said mother is

hanging out in a gym with boys

my two youngest thought that they needed

to give the sport a try....

What's a mom to do...

i could show you all the quilting I've been doing

however, my camera has been taken over

by my youngest brother "the J man"

i hope he is learning lots in his class

so he can come and teach me about my camera!!
