Blog Surffing again... More Weight off

I have a couple of new favs for quilting bloggers. Actually, I have a ton of favs, but my list on my sidebar would run on forever!!
Here are a couple of new blogs that I have ran across while blog surfing. Take a look at them!
TLC Stitches
Em's Scrapbag
I went to weight training again this morning, but I'm not as sore as last time. I will need to increase the weight that I'm using in order to push my muscles...
I also stood on the scale at the gym--
I know Wendy I shouldn't have done it, but I had to know.
I guess I'm addicted to that number, but weighing once a week can't be too bad, can it???
So what did it say....
I HAVE LOST 2 MORE POUNDS.
YIPPEE!!
My clothes are starting to fit much better -
in fact on Sunday I wore a skirt I haven't worn in months becuase it was tooooooo tight....
Maybe one day I will actually post a before and after picture - but I will have to have lost LOTS more!
Have a good one...

An Award... Growing Up... & OuCH!!

First off I was so excited to check on of my absolute favorite blogs to discover that I had been given an award. Jo Anne has given me the below award for my blog! THANKS!! It is so exciting to see how wonderful all the people in blogland are.

Now I must nominate 5 blogs as well... This is a tough one as I LOVE to blog surf, but here goes...

1- Karen is getting this award for getting me started on my way to blogging. I love to blog now, I think I'm an addict.... anyone know of a support group? maybe there's a blog out there that can help me.

2- Piper's Girls is getting this award for getting me started on quilting. I walked into that store for a birthday present - for me of course, and I haven't been able to get enough of it. The owner has developed my love of quilting in so many ways. I love to see all the new things they are bringing into the store. They offer online purchasing - gotta love it!

3- Sarah at Anyone Can Quilt: I absolutely love this blog!!! I can't seem to get enough of it. She has recently posted a Machine Quilting 101 and made it seem so simple that I just had to sit down and try... I did it! Check out her blog for great tutorials, amazing photos, etc...

4- Wendy at The Running Quilter gets this award for encouraging us to strive a little harder in our creativity, to enjoy being fit, and never give up!! Check out her blog for some great motivation for working out and being creative.

5- Lynette Anderson from Lynette Anderson's design. She has beautiful stitching and quilting. The free BOM for Noah's Ark is so cute!! Too bad I'm not having any more boys to make this quilt for. But I'm pretty sure someone in the Bergeson family will be...

Now on to some other things...

My baby is growing up! Today was his first day of Junior High. He was so excited but nervous.

He started out as a little bundle. I can't say a little bundle of joy because he came into this world fighting with all his strength

to stay a live. He was born 9 week premature and had to be hosptialized for 6 weeks in ICU. What a strain on his mother!!! I never knew what was going to happen to him. He made it from a little 4 lb 2 oz premie to an amazing 12 year old.

He amazes me every day. I know I will never hold him as my little baby again, but to watch him grow and mature has been amazing.... I love this little guy!

Now for the OuCH!!!

I took a weight lifting class this morning at 545 am. That's right I was up and out of bed and now I can't even lift my arms, legs, sit, stand, etc... I know that this will help me get fit, but it hurts today. I will be doing a weight class twice a week so not only will I lose fat but I will also tone those long lost muscles that I really feel today... UGH!!!

I'm off for a couple of days.. we are headed to Bear Lake to soak in some relaxation!

Ta Ta for now....

Is this for REAL???

So I decided to get into shape thanks to my younger brother - who is 5'10"ish and all of 130 pounds soaking wet... He decided we would hike in Zion's National Park. I haven't hiked for YEARS...
But a little over 3 weeks ago I started walking on the treadmill till I was a sweating fool.
Then 2 weeks ago I decided to track my weight, of which I need to lose A LOT!! So I got my base weight, then last week I weighed myself on the same scale as the previous week and I was down about 2.5 pounds. This put a smile on my face to start the week...
but this last week I didn't have a great week working out -
I only made it 4 days of the 5-6 I usually make. So I was a little nervous getting on the scale this morning. I did it though and guess what

THE SCALE MUST BE LYING!!!

I am down 11 pounds from my weight last week. Nothing major has changed, I just am a little more aware of what is being put in my mouth, and I am working out really hard.

GET REAL
I KNOW THAT THE SCALE MUST BE LYING!!!

That means in total I have lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks.

I CAN TAKE ON THE WORLD!!!
Wish me luck!!

Down 2... How do you???

Yep that's right I am down 2 pounds from last Monday. So this getting fit thing might actually work. In the grand scheme of things 2 pounds doesn't sound like much, but I know over time it will be!!

I have also decided to join the Crafty, Creative & Fit bloggers. You can see who all is joining at the Running Quilter blog, or click on the picture in my sidebar. I figure this is a great way to be excited about getting fit - and being creative!!

Now a quick question, I own a great Bernina sewing machine, but to be honest I am scared to death to try and machine quilt on it. Now why is that??? I know I should be able to do it, but I just can't seem to get up the courage to sit down and practice. It scares me to death. So anyone out there that knows of a great how to video on the web, or a class or something that can help me get over this fear that would be great!!!

I have also finished my bag for Linda's bag swap - but NO PICTURES, can't give anything away...

Till next time!

Finished - Yes I'm Reading it - R U?

I have a finish and it didn't take me forever...
I had a quilt retreat with several friends in March 08 and we exchanged paperdoll blocks. Since I put it together I got to select what we where doing, so I told each lady that the background had to be white/cream and the dress needed to be a red. With those instructions this is what I received from these ladies.

This was the first quilt that I have done with a wavy border. They aren't fun, but I love the look it added to this quilt!!

Each lady signed their blocks for me.

We had a wonderful weekend quilting, talking, eating, and all good things that come with great friends!! I hope to plan another weekend soon....

Now.... the 4th book in the Twlight series came out on Saturday. I went with some friends to pick up the book at midnight from Borders. There was fun to be had. A blood drive for the hospital, fortune telling, trivia, etc. I stood in line but then didn't buy the book. I knew I had enough friends that did buy the book I wouldn't have to worry. Last night my neighbor brought over her book so that I could begin reading it.

Are you a Jacob fan, or an Edward fan???

Love Hate Relationship...

This is your typcial Love / Hate relationship, or I should say Hate / Love relationship. My brother has decided that we are going to go hike the Subway at Zion's National Park. This is a slot canyon similar to the Narrows. Well, for those of you who know me, I'm not exactly in the best of shape! (That is putting it mildly!) But I have decided I can do this. So here comes the Hate / Love part.

Every morning at 5AM the alarm goes off... I encourage my husband to hit the snooze button at least 2 times before I move my lazy butt out of the bed to go hit the treadmill.

Thus the HATE part...

I HATE EXERCISING!

I'm not sure why we can't just ride around in mobile chairs like in Wall E (the recent Disney Movie). But then I remember that I am created in God's image, and I should treat my body like a temple.

BUT IT HURTS!

I know go complain to someone who will listen.

NOW the LOVE part!

I actually LOVE how this is making me feel.

It's invigorating, I'm energetic,

I can do this... because at the end of all of this is a new SKINNY me...geez -I haven't seen skinny in 12+ years.

AND I WILL GET TO SEE THIS...
