It's FALL...

Fall is my favorite time of year.
I love the colors, the food, the smells
the big sweaters...
but NOT THE SNOW...

My kids sure had fun in the first snow of the year...

And of course after playing in the snow
One must enjoy a cup of hot chocolate & marshmallows
BUT this mom wasn't prepared for the snow and thus
only hot chocolate - no marshmallows

The snow was gone by Halloween
And the kids were ready to get some candy
M1 was batman - yes I finished that costume
M2 was superman.

They went Trick or Treating 3 times that day
Ate homemade carmel apples - thanks Kim
And stayed up way past their bedtime!!

The cousin's came to grandma's house too...

And Dad and Uncle Judd had a little too much fun!!
(Dad is the witch)

Now it is time to snuggle in for the winter...
Here comes the snow!

He's 3... and some other stuff

M2 is 3 years old!!

I can't believe that my baby is growing up.
A real little boy!!

We are even attemtping to potty train,
He is catching on - and the diaper bill has gone down...

Here are some pictures from his birthday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY M2!!!

On a few other notes...
I have been quilting and sewing up a storm!
Just what every quilter wants to do...

We have decided to do a "
Total Money Makeover"
and so I have been sewing a Halloween Costume this year.
Now I'm a quilter - not a seamstress, so this is rather difficult
I never know exactly how to do it - but it seems to be turning out OK.

M1 has decided to be Batman,
(The costume I had to make)

And M2 has decided to be Superman
(The costume I stole my pattern from for Batman)

My MIL made the superman outfit
about 10 years ago when #1 was 3

My boys LOVE it!!
I think I have even caught their father wearing it once or twice
-BUT don't tell!

As for quilting...
Here are a few of the projects I have been working on.

This one is for the Secret Angel swap
Can't tell who it is for - but I hope she'll like it!

These blocks are just waiting to be set in some fashion
Can't decide what that is yet - I'm up for suggestions...

These pinwheels were stolen from the trash...
Yes girls - you get desperate when you have to live on a tight budget.
Actually - they where extra from a quilt retreat and my wonderful quilting friend let me take them...

Now there is a story with the 3 blocks above
You probably don't know but they are missing their friend
You see I take applique to my son's soccer practices, games, etc
and somehow the applique fairy came into our car and took just one block
I have no idea where that one block went.....
I have a sneaking suspicion it is in the same place as all those darn missing socks!

BUT if you find a block that looks like the ones above
or the single one below - please send me an email and let me know!
I'm short on the tree fabric - and it makes me mad!!

Ok - calm down you say...

Next few photos are of #1's soccer team.
They just finished State Cup in the semi-finals
They are an awesome group of boys!!

GO PATRIOTS!!

The one in red is my son.
He is a short little guy - but look at how he can jump...
Some days I think he has springs for legs!
Obviously he got his head on this ball!!

Well... That's a catch up for our family!
Hopefully your family is having as much fun and success as ours!!

A Worth While Weekend

What a wonderful weekend...
It started on Friday with of course the last day of work
and then we went to a wedding for my husband's cousin
Caught up with family we haven't seen in a while

And then came Saturday...
A fun day spent with my brother
and his family swimming in their pool
a quick Bar B Q, and then we watched
their cute kids so they could celebrate a birthday.

Sunday couldn't have been better
It started with the dedication of the newest Temple
The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple

What a wonderful dedication...

Then - I had to take the boyz out of the house -
they were either going to kill each other, OR
I was going to kill them...
So we went on a quick hike to Lisa Falls

What fun we had
We walked right by a rattlesnake and didn't even see it
SCARY!!

But the boys loved playing in the water,

hiking high enough to scare their mother
(Can you see them up there??)

and carrying rocks
M2 wouldn't put this rock down -
but it was too heavy for him to carry down the path
So he would throw it down the path and then chase after it all the time while
saying "My rock, my rock"

So much fun!!

We then finished the day with a wonderful dinner
with my husband's cousin and her family.
It was great to sit and talk
Exchange stories, etc...

Thanks for a wonderful evening!

We then headed home to start the process of getting ready for school
#1 went to his first day of 8th grade.
I can't believe he is that old,
because that makes me HOW old???

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well..

Now on to much more important things like
WORK... (NOT REALLY)

First Day of School... and an OOPS!!

On Monday this week my middle son (M1) started Kindergarten
His mom wondered how he would do -
BUT of course he did fine.

Here are some pictures...

What a cutie...

Now for the OOPS!!

I few months ago I signed up for a Pay It Forward through P.S I Quilt
In July this cute package arrived...
I opened and was excited.
Then life got extremely crazy with finals, vacation, new kindergartener, blah, blah
I know excuses, excuses

Well - my husband cleaned things up
(Which in our house can sometimes mean move the pile from one location to another more appropriate location...)
and this cute quilt was lost.
I just recently found it on my sewing table
and I screamed AHHHH!
Because I forgot to send Rachel a wonderful THANK YOU card.

Now I know this is not the appropriate way to send a THANK YOU
and I will at the very least send her an email, but in my husband's attempt to clean up
The packaging was placed in the trash so I don't have her address anymore - UGH!

So here is this very cute quilt...
It is perfect for the July holiday's

THANK YOU RACHEL!

If you haven't visited her blog, please do so!!

PS - That means it is my turn to do a Pay It Forward...
Check back for that post...

This MAMA is done with school!!

YIPPEE, HOORAY, FIREWORKS,
and of course
PARTY!!!

So because I feel I will have some additional time I would love to do a swap.

Any suggestions???

It's been awhile...

So I'm a slacker... but with school, work and summer vacation,
I don't have much time to sit and post. So this will be a catch up

WARNING - there will be a few pictures along the way.

We started our summer with a soccer tournament in Boulder, CO
We were blessed to stay with a friend in Longmont, CO

KV worked with me at the Family History Library.
She is an amazing woman and I miss her EVERYDAY!

I made a quilt for her

and her daughter who is expecting anyday now

We also went geocaching...

Yes we did soccer too.

The team took second place - GO PATRIOTS...

M1 turned 5
(yes he is five and ready for school - but I don't think his mom is...)

Who gets 2 parties. Thanks KV & Zack and Karen!!

Then came JULY...
We had to do the Lewiston party of course,

We played at Bear Lake - no pictures
Hubby ran his first 10K with his brothers: time 59:??
(He's the one in the middle)

The oldest has been gone for almost 2 weeks -
1 week with friends at Lake Powell
1 week at scout camp...
And at the end of this month - we are exhausted

BUT - summer isn't over yet...

One more trip on the horizon
YELLOWSTONE...
Oh yea - and mom is finally graudating at the end of July
She will have her BS in Business
(although she has been able to BS with the best of them for a while now)

I have to brag...

I have to take a minute and brag about a very AMAZING lady in my life.

MY MOTHER IN LAW

She has raised 5 amazing boys - the oldest which is my husband.
And somehow amongst all the crazines she was still able
to fit in time for herself QUILTING.

(Although I secretly think this became her Valium...)

I went to a quilt retreat several weeks ago
where she was the trunk show.
I thought I had lost these pictures as they were taken with my phone
BUT I just found them.

She has created some amazing quilts.
She has also promised to document them
- - - I sure hope she does, because her boys don't know her stories - - -

I am amazed at her ability.
Here are the pics

My husband left the iron on this cross stitch
She actually let him live
Boy am I GLAD!!
Not only is she an amazing quilter

but she is a wonderful mother in law,

grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LOVE YOU!!

I'm in TROUBLE!

I know I will be in trouble, but I'm hoping that if I post it first then my mother and mother in law won't be as upset the next time they see my youngest child.

Of course my mother will see him tomorrow - probably before she sees this post...

My youngest was born with hair like his fathers...
Beautiful CURLS..

Any woman would be jealous.

I know that I am. I would kill for some body to my hair.
Instead two of my children were blest with this.

So I guess I better show the

BEFORE...

AFTER...

If you don't see me, that is because I have now gone into hiding.

I know that once the curls grow back I will be safe...

LOVE YA MOM's!!

Just some fun PHOTOS...

Due to life I have been slacking at blogging.

So in hopes that I catch up one day...

Find my sanity somewhere...

Quit remodeling the house

(Pictures to follow)

And focus on some special children in my life

Here are some of my favorite pictures of them...
